Description

My story exists because of one man who, in this book, I call Danny Wallace. He opened my eyes to a world of passion and love, but he also introduced me to a lot of other things. I invite you to explore the twisted thoughts of me losing my mind, trying to leave my abusive husband. I made a spontaneous (and an actually good) decision to join the Navy. Which lead to me making a lot of other spontaneous and less-wise decisions. By that I mean, there was a lot of meaningless-sex, self-pity-booze, and violent fantasies involved. When I chose to make a fresh start and to no longer live in the past, something awful happened and I started spiraling again. I attempted to be the perfect mom and model sailor, but shit happens. By some miracle, my awkward, strange self became friends with awesome people, who admired me for being me. I enjoyed my life without any fear of anyone or anything. For the first time, I saw myself as my own person. Not just my mom’s daughter, my sister’s sister, or my husband’s wife. I am me, and I am strong. I had potential to make myself whatever I wanted without being held back by anyone. Eventually, I healed. Not completely, though. Bondage will never be fun for me ever again, being eaten-out is going to have to be a distant memory, and I will always doubt a man who claims to be a “good guy.” Yet, somehow, I feel like it was all worth it. Maybe it was meant to happen. Perhaps joining the Navy and leaving my home town is how I will someday find exactly what I’ve been looking for since the day I met Danny, a happy ending.
