Description

In a time of copper, steel, gears, and steam-powered machinery, there are no threats of war and no concern over intolerance. People have enough, and life grinds on. People are people, friends are friends, and still life grinds on.

Aaron Jaxler, steelworker and family man, was as humble as they came. He didn't stir the pot, and he tried to avoid confrontation as much as possible. His friends called him Ajax and were very fond of him, so it was only natural that they selected him to be their leader and their voice. When management forced his hand, he did the best thing he could do. He ended up losing his job for that decision.

Ajax thought that losing his job was bad enough, but then he knew he was being tested when he contracted the virus that was starting to spread through the city. After surviving the devastation of the virus, he returns home to try to pick up the pieces with his loving wife and children. That is when his life is really turned upside down and inside out, a reflection of the way the virus is sweeping over the people. As the death count rises, his very sanity is put to the greatest test of all.

Will Ajax be able to make it? If he can make it through these trials, will he even know reality when he sees it? Only time will tell. And what else awaits him afterward?
